Charlotte, NC; September 22, 2008 — DecisionPoint International, a boutique Investment Bank providing merger and acquisition services to middle-market technology clients, announced today that its client, PhoneXtra, Inc. (“PhoneXtra” or “Company”) has been acquired by Strategic Products and Services (“SPS”). SPS and PhoneXtra both specialize in the design, installation and support of converged communications solutions, advanced IP telephony applications, unified communications, network infrastructure and mobility solutions. The combined companies will operate as SPS.

“Through our merger with PhoneXtra, we join forces with an established converged solutions provider in the New Jersey and New York metropolitan areas,” said John Poole, SPS president. “PhoneXtra’s technical expertise, service capabilities and commitment to customer satisfaction are an excellent fit with SPS. The combined SPS and PhoneXtra resources and experience complement our market coverage, enable us to expand our capacity and explore new solution offers to best serve our customers.”

As Avaya Platinum Certified Business Partners, both SPS and PhoneXtra have strong market presence, customer relationships, plus technical and service capabilities. The merged company creates the most dominant communication solution provider in the eastern half of the United States.

“For 26 years, PhoneXtra has proudly served customers in our region,” said John Negri, former PhoneXtra CEO and president. “Through this merger, we are able to expand our customer offering, better serve customers throughout the country and provide strategic growth opportunities for our employees. I look forward to playing a key role in merging the management teams and supporting the expanded operations going forward.”

The merged company employs more than 380 individuals in over 25 cities nationwide. Existing PhoneXtra locations in Fairfield and Freehold, NJ; New York, NY; Horsham, PA now add to the overall SPS footprint. PhoneXtra-Atlantic, a former subsidiary of PhoneXtra, is not part of the merger with SPS and will become a standalone entity through its divestiture.

“These organizations are two of the top Avaya partners in the country. Each has a commitment to delivering the best customer experience possible through complex design, implementation, and support services,” said Doug Ellis, managing partner of DecisionPoint.

Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
